When I was a kid I remember my grandfather would always take pictures. He was snapping photos at every family function. Photos captured events memories and the passage of time. The experience of photos was centered around the memories. Time was spent taking photos of friends and family and sharing those memories around a table.

Over the years as photography has become more and more digital the core experience of photography has focused less and less on the things that make it great. Many of the tools and photo sharing sites that exist today focus on creating a digital darkroom experience. While tags and photo-geo-location are useful for some we think these types of features overcomplicate photography and takes some of the fun away.
