Raizlabs, Boston MA - Did you know that the ink used in personal photo printers costs as much as $8000 per gallon? Many of today’s modern desktop inkjet printers sell cartridges that cost $30 or more and only provide 15ml of ink. The new version of PicMe Photo Sharing introduces one-step photo ordering, making it easy to order high quality prints at home for a low price right.

The new functionality bridges the gap between the ease of desktop printing and the complexity of online ordering. The new software will allow you to order prints from any photo in your own collection or any photo that has been shared to you. In addition the software also allows you to order photos from any plug-in that’s enabled through PicMe Photo Sharing including Flickr, Picasa and Facebook.

PicMe Photo Sharing provides a unique one step checkout process allowing you to quickly place orders at an affordable price and ship your photos around the world.

“A lot of people don’t realize that printing 4×6 prints at home can cost upwards of $.60 each. PicMe Photo Sharing prints cost just $0.19 each and shipping will be under $2 for most orders.” said Raizlabs founder Gregory Raiz.

Traditionally if you wanted to share a large collection of photos such as wedding photos you would have to get them all printed. With PicMe Photo Sharing you can share hundreds of photos with friends and family and they can choose what photos they want to print. The process is simple and produces great looking prints.

Once photos are ordered they are uploaded securely for fast printing. Orders usually arrive in about a week. Raizlabs, the makers of PicMe Photo Sharing, chose EZ-Prints as their photography lab partner. EZ-Prints has been a leader in online photo printing, and has partnered with many other online photo services. PicMe Photo Sharing can now bring the quality of their printing solution to photos ordered right from your desktop.

PicMe Photo Sharing uses a unique one page checkout making it quick to get the prints you want with no hassle. The initial release supports 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, 9×12, Wallet prints as well as premium luster paper. The PicMe Photo Sharing software is free to use and allows people to easily share large collections with friends and family. Premium versions of the software are also available for as low as $9.95/year.

PicMe Photo Sharing is a product of Raizlabs Corporation and has been designed from the outset to be a simple and friendly photo product for non-technical individuals. The software is available from http://picme.raizlabs.com

PicMe Photo Sharing today released a minor update to it’s photo sharing product line to enable support for Google’s Picasa Web Albums.

Las Vegas PMA 2008 - Raizlabs has released PicMe Photo Sharing 2, a free photo application that makes it easy to share photos directly with friends, upload images to websites and organize a lifetime of memories.

The new version of PicMe Photo Sharing is the fastest way to view and share photos with friends. It uses a patent pending 3D view that can display hundreds of thousands of photos in physical stacks. This allows users to browse collections of images very quickly by flipping through photos. Unlike most programs that use grids or folders to display collections PicMe displays each collection as a stack of photos. This unique technology allows for quick navigation through large collections of photos.

PicMe Photo Sharing includes tools to allow for basic adjustments to photos such as rotating and adding captions. “We want to put the focus back on the picture. Instead of the software behaving like a digital darkroom, we put the emphasis on viewing and sharing images.” said Gregory Raiz, founder of Raizlabs. Unlike other photo management programs, PicMe Photo Sharing emphasizes the ease of digital photo sharing. The tool makes it easy to invite friends, create groups and share stacks of images with people right from your desktop.

PicMe Photo Sharing is a desktop application so it can do many things that websites can’t. Currently a lot of people use email to share photos and there are a number of problems that make this cumbersome. When using email to share, people must compose a message, address it to your friend, search their computer for photos and attach one image at a time. When the message is received it can clog up the recipient’s Inbox and it can also be difficult to view the photos. PicMe automates this entire process. Simply drag and drop a stack of photos on an icon of a friend. The software will then automatically upload the images for easy viewing and send an email notifying your friend of new pictures. This makes it easy to share entire collections of images, not just one or two.

The new version of PicMe Photo Sharing also works with electronic devices and media such as digital cameras, digital picture frames, USB thumb drives and photo CD’s allowing you to import photos from your device or media directly to your computer. When importing photos from cameras or media, PicMe Photo Sharing will help organize the photos into stacks. The software will recognize pictures that were taken on different days, and stack them accordingly. Holiday photos won’t get mixed up with birthday photos. In addition to helping users import photos from their cameras, PicMe Photo Sharing also allows users to update their photo frames with new photos shared to them from other users or online services.

PicMe Photo Sharing not only allows you to share with friends, groups and digital photo frames but it also allows you to share with online services. The new version has additional plug-in support and allows users to view friends and contacts in services such as Flickr and Facebook. This means that you can view stacks of photos and collections of images from existing online libraries. Each plug-in allows you to see the friends and contacts associated with that service and easily browse and view collections of photos that you care about. There is no other application that can go from Camera, to computer and then to online services and friends as easily as PicMe Photo Sharing.

PicMe Photo Sharing works with Microsoft Windows © computers and is available for free at http://picme.raizlabs.com. An email registration is required. Users can also upgrade to a basic paid account for $9.95/year allowing them to share 5000 original quality images. A higher end account is also available for $24.95/year, and this allows sharing of 15,000 images. For Apple and Linux users a basic web application is available for viewing shared photos. The software is available today from: http://picme.raizlabs.com.

Raizlabs, the makers of PicMe Photo Sharing released the new version of their software at PMA2008, a worldwide conference of photo products in Las Vegas. Raizlabs will be demonstrating the product this week on the convention floor in booth U246. Press Images are available here: http://picme.raizlabs.com/press.html
